NOTE FROM THE COMPOSER

I was invited by Oxford University Press to write a new carol for the “Carols for Choirs 5”. I chose this 15thc. text for the new carol. It has since been performed on the London Symphony Orchestra’s holiday concert series. This Endris Night is published as an octavo and as part of Carols for Choirs 5.

This endris [other] night, I saw a sight,
A star as bright as day,
And e’er among, a Maiden sung,
‘Lullay, bye bye, lullay.'”
