NOTE FROM THE COMPOSER

This was one of the first works that I published, and it remains one of the most popular to this day. The text is by Irish poet and dramatist, William Butler Yeats (d. 1939), who had a lifelong interest in mysticism, astrology, spiritualism, and folklore. The work is about someone that wants to win the affection of another, but they are poor and have nothing to offer except their dream of a life together.

The Cloths of Heaven has been performed by the Santa Fe Desert Chorale, Turtle Creek Chorale, and Bournemouth TTBB Choir, among many others.
