LUX AETERNA
S(S)A + organ (or piano)
NOTE FROM THE COMPOSER
I composed this work for James Litton and the American Boy Choir. Lux Aeterna (“Light Eternal”) actually had/has two purposes – one was the dedication to Dr. Litton, and the second was not only to set this beautiful text – but to teach head voice. The long, descending lines are both artistically and pedagogically written. (The melodies cascade down from the upper range into the mid-range for treble voices, and encourage homogenous, head voice in the middle range.)
A piano part (if organ unavailable) is at the back of the choral score.
